OPINION

This is the only song by BUMP OF CHICKEN that I find dark, oppressive and even frightening. Not just the words, but also the crashing, violent sounds. They don't have any other song that sounds at all similar to this one. It reminds me of Guild, a song that is also evokes feeling of being undergroud and has echoing sounds, but in a dark way. I imagine that there is a caravan of people traveling through a long, deep, dark tunnel but two people have fallen behind. Fujiwara's favorite image of light is very important in this song, but it keeps getting away from the characters. I think the message he is trying to send, though, if that even if things are not good there are still other people you can relate to. Even if BUMP has some sad songs they are never hopeless. The speaker in the song keeps saying unpleasant things to his companion, but they are alike and they stay together. I do like this song… But I'm rarely in the mood to listen to it. It makes me shiver.
