OPINION
This certainly seems like a world-weary song at first… But there is still that person that the speaker admires that I've been noticing throughout a lot of this album. This person faces forwards and never gives up, while the speaker admires them from afar. That's why I don't think this is a sad song. Maybe it's a song for when you're down, but it's not without hope. Plus, the upbeat sound has got to cheer you up, right? I think that the "notes" are thoughts that the speaker writes down or holds in his mind. Some are "pitch black" or heavy, sad thoughts, while others are "pure white." It's like he goes through sad times and happy times, and this makes him tired and confused. The fact that the song is titled "White Note" gives the song some optimism, though. I really enjoy this song, and I hope you do too!
