English Lyrics Translation

ENGLISH

Battle Cry

I lied to myself
That "I can keep trying"
At some point the lie became true
I sang, "I can keep trying"
And I kept on trying
And made it here

The prima donna's used to it
The pilot can't get enough sleep
I had a dream where I was the protagonist
But I forgot it when I stopped smiling
Did I really forget?
No, that's impossible
It's got to be

I'm sure that's why I'm alive
What I'm gambling to obtain
I get hurt
I cling on and I don't let go
Only for one thing
This is my battlefield
Where I decide the cost of my resolution
I cling to
The lie
Give
A song of oath
Shout a battle cry

Be rebellious every day
Talk big
And then have a great laugh
Let them know you're the protagonist
Bluff like it's real
Bluff that you're strong
Lie again

That's my little strength
Just bluffing and lying
I'd be proud if my dreams could be my strength
If my wishes could become my courage
This is my battlefield
Where I decide the cost of my resolution
I cling to the lie and the lie becomes my oath

I proceed towards the battlefield and sing a song of oath for the soldiers
It's not kindness nor a service, it's so they can make it through the battle

I'm always bluffing
Bluffing that I'm strong
I lie again

This is why I'm alive
What I'm gambling to obtain
I get hurt
I cling on and I don't let go
Only for one thing
This is my battlefield
Where I decide the cost of my resolution
I cling to
The lie
Give
A song of oath
Shout a battle cry

To this lie
I cling
Give
A song of oath
Shout a battle cry

To this lie
I cling
Give
A song of oath
Shout a battle cry

SHOUT A BATTLECRY

SHOUT A BATTLECRY

SHOUT A BATTLECRY

SHOUT A BATTLECRY

OPINION

A very spirited song! I'm sure this is not meant to be literally taken as a song about war, rather, about living life and struggling in society. I imagine the speaker in the song as a drummer boy who cheers on the soldiers, or perhaps a soldier who just can't find real couage. The thing I like about this song most is the first few lines about telling yourself you can do something you're not confident in, which causes you to succeed. It's very true! The bit about the prima donna and the pilot seems a bit confusing, but these are just meant to be extra examples that show people struggling in society.
