Voyager English Lyrics Translation

ENGLISH

Voyager

XX day of XX month
Today I send a transmission again
But there is no reply
No matter how
Far away I become
I will always
Be orbiting around you

I flung a light into the night sky
The crying voice I heard
Was my own from long ago
Even if I leave you behind in my memories
You will continue on
Far away

Please reply!
From the surface of your life
Launch up
So you pass me by
Counting the numbers of
The always
Ever-passing stars
I went flying
I will connect it to the sound
That I remembered each time
And send you a melody

OPINION

This song is the words of a satellite talking to a person on the planet below… Or in other words, someone's words to a person they are separated from but care about. The first and last stanzas are written as if by a computer, with abbreviated language and lots of katakana. The middle stanza is written more like a human, but throughout the whole song archaic kanji are used. Also as a note, the Voyagers were two satellites sent out in the 1970s to observe Jupiter (also the name of one of BUMP's albums) and Saturn. If it weren't for the bit about contacting a person on the surface, I'd say this song was about the two satellites talking to each other.
